The application period for the 2019 - 2020 academic year is now closed. Applications submitted between April 16th, 2019 and February 14th, 2020 will neither be processed nor acknowledged. Our application period is the same every year: February 15th through April 15th.

Tuition awards are made for one year only, so you must re-apply each year. Applicants are notified as to whether or not they're getting a tuition award by late May or early June each year.

We treat all applications with care and discretion. However, please be aware that in applying, you are accepting that your application will be retained in our files, that we will make copies of it and that it will be reviewed and discussed with multiple individuals, including members of our board and of our awards committee. Your name, school district, college, major and/or other basic information concerning your tuition award may be published. If you are unable to accept these conditions, please do not apply.

All TMF recipients are required to repay their tuition awards. Tuition awards are completely interest-free, and we don't ask you to begin repayments until several months after you've either graduated or discontinued your education. Do not apply if you're not willing to repay your award.

Even if you aren't chosen for a tuition award one year, we encourage you to re-apply the following year if you still need financial help. Your circumstances (or ours) may have changed and though we had to say "no" one year doesn't ever mean that it's "no" every year.

We use the word "college" to denote ANY education beyond high school: college/university; trade school or vocational/technical training; a licensure or certification program; or graduate school. We make tuition awards for any education beyond high school.

2019 - 2020 application

The 2019 - 2020 application period is from February 15th through April 15th. These dates are constant each year. We do not accept, acknowledge or process applications at any other time.

This application can be submitted to us only between February 15th, 2019 and April 15th, 2019. Applications submitted before or after these dates will not be acknowledged or processed.

Our application must be completed in a single session. We do not provide a way for you to "save" and return to it, so please don't start the application until you’re certain you have enough time to complete and submit it. We recommend that you gather together all necessary financial and tax information before starting. Typically, this is the tax information for your parents from the prior year's tax return. Assuming you have this in front of you, most students need approximately 15 minutes to complete the application.

Though we recognize that parents may help, the application must be completed from the standpoint of the applicant WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE FINANCIAL SECTION FOR MOST APPLICANTS. Please pay very close attention to the details of the financial section.

If you are not yet certain which college you're attending, we ask you to WAIT to apply until closer to the end of the application period (April 15th is the final day). Knowing for sure what school you're going to helps us calculate your total award with greater accuracy.

NOTE: Applications submitted to us with incomplete, inaccurate or unintelligible information will be deleted. Applicants may or may not be offered the opportunity to re-submit their applications in such cases. Please take your time and do it right the first time.

Unless we know you personally, we address our applicants with an honorific and surname, because we choose to treat students as adults. Please help us by choosing an honorific.
